Thiru. P.N.Venkatachalam

It gives me great pride and satisfaction to write about PKR Arts College for Women, Gobichettipalayam. In the recent years, we have been passing through a tremendously changing process and our younger generation must be trained accordingly, so that, they can address the challenges before them in an effective, timely and in a meaningful manner.

In the present national set-up, everywhere there is the problem of poverty, disorder in family, invasion on culture, mistrust, corruption, violence, terrorism and it is only lack of confidence and fear that is prevailing among the people. When there is no peace among the people of the nation there cannot be any creativity, which will lead to a lower productivity. To counter this state of affairs the only option left with the nation is education.

PKR under the able guidance and leadership of Shri. P. N. Venkatachalam whose father Late Shri. P.R. Natarajan was instrumental in setting up this Institution is flying high with the mission of "Empowering the rural women by inculcating the core values of truth and righteousness and by ensuring quality in the teaching-learning process along with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for their economic independence, social commitment and national development", with a modernized education. True to its mission, especially for the rural women, this is a great contribution of Shri. P. R. Natarajan towards the rural society and in empowering the women.

We, at PKR provide excellent infrastructure, competent faculty, lush green environment conducive for learning and all other facilities required for a modern education. The main aim of the Institution is to provide modern education in the field of Arts, Science and Commerce to the young women of Gobichettipalayam and its nearby villages.
