The Research and Development (R&D) Committee of P.K.R. Arts College for Women (Autonomous) is one of the accomplishments to elevate the quality education and research caliber for both faculty members and students. The purpose of the Research Committee is to develop opportunities for research and development among the academies and to support research in recently emerging and frontier fields of science, social science, and commerce. The committee facilitates a conducive environment for scientific advancement and observes the college's research endeavors. Innovative breakthroughs will be possible only because of the scrupulous efforts of R&D. The Institute offers the SEED money to facilitate basic common research infrastructure for faculty members to execute collaborative research work. The research development committee facilitates with field expert as an external member, for guiding the budding researchers. The Research Development Committee is directed to monitor the college’s research activities every month.

OBJECTIVES OF R & D COMMITTEE

• To encourage the research scholars for creative and original research that leads to new discoveries and technologies.
• To encourage and support the faculty members for high-quality research that contributes to the academic reputation and educational quality of the institution.
• To promote the publication of research works of faculty members , students and research scholar in high impact  journals( Scopus, H Index, Web of Science and UGC care) and conferences and ensure broad dissemination.
• To Support the academia’s for the intellectual property (Patent rights, Copy rights) and encourage the commercialization of research outcomes.
• To motivate the researchers to conduct research that addresses local and regional challenges and contributes to the well-being of society through in-house projects.
• To support the faculty members and researchers to send the research proposals to various funding agencies(DST,DSIR,ICSSR,UGC etc.,)
• To foster international research collaborations and exchanges.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor the entire departments’ research activities and improve research programs and practices regularly.
• Insist the faculty members to publish articles in journals and books at regular intervals.
• Assist the Board in the oversight, evaluation and decision making related to research and development.
• Assist the faculty members for collaboration work and in-house projects.
• Conduct periodical meetings with the committee members (including Heads) and the Principal and Secretary.
